Start with the home your puppy will actually live in: its address, the route to a toilet area, and the people available for daily care. Those details help you choose an individual puppy more thoughtfully than a breed name or a weekend outing alone. Sage Puppies is Cassie Milar’s program in South Jordan, Utah, offering Havanese, Havapoo and Cavapoo. Explore current available puppies, then use this Las Vegas household guide to prepare your questions.

Check your address before choosing a licensing route
Begin with the actual home address. The City of Las Vegas pet-licensing page directs residents to check that they live within city limits before continuing to its licensing provider. Use that address check rather than assuming a Las Vegas mailing address identifies the correct licensing authority. If your home falls outside the city, confirm the responsible jurisdiction before applying.
For homes within the city, the linked Las Vegas DocuPet licensing page lists licensing for dogs and cats over four months of age. It requires a valid rabies certificate and describes spay/neuter documentation for its discounted rate. Check the current requirements and ask the licensing authority and your veterinarian about the timing and documentation appropriate to your puppy. A licensing discount should not determine a medical decision.
Make a small records checklist before homecoming: the authority you checked, the documents you need to obtain, and the date you will revisit the requirement. Keep those records private and accessible to the adult handling your puppy’s care. For broader puppy-selection questions, use our Nevada buyer guide.
Rehearse an ordinary day at home
If you rent or live in a community with pet rules, review the written requirements before committing. Confirm the permitted dog, any size limits, charges and shared-space rules with the person who can approve them. A building’s pet-friendly description does not answer every question about your particular home.
Walk the route from the puppy’s resting area to the intended toilet area. Include doors, elevators, stairs, parking areas and any shared entrances. Can the adult on duty manage the puppy, leash or carrier and door access together? Where will you pause if an elevator is busy or another dog is approaching? Plan around the route you will use repeatedly, including after dark, rather than a nearby park you might visit occasionally.
Las Vegas families also need a plan for days when their usual outdoor routine is unsuitable. Choose a calm indoor resting space and discuss an appropriate toilet and activity routine with your puppy’s veterinarian. Our Nevada heat-care guide covers additional preparation; your puppy’s individual instructions take priority.
If your household works early, evening or overnight shifts, write down who is available during the gaps. Include travel time and the period when an overnight worker is asleep. Agree on a backup adult before arrival, with clear instructions for access, supplies and contacting you. A nearby helper is useful only when they have actually agreed to help.
Plan future outings around readiness and the actual schedule
A dog park can be a future option without being the starting point for a young puppy’s routine. Ask your veterinarian when public dog areas are appropriate and check the posted rules at the exact destination. A small-dog enclosure alone does not establish that an outing suits your puppy.
Barkin’ Basin Park, at 7351 W. Alexander Road, illustrates why checking the individual park matters. The city lists three dog areas, shaded seating and water fountains. Its published hours are 7 a.m.–11 p.m., with the dog areas closed on Mondays and Thursdays from 11:30 a.m.–4 p.m. for maintenance.
Recheck that official page and on-site notices before a visit. Those closures are particularly relevant if your free time falls in the middle of a weekday. Keep another suitable option in your household plan; a park’s amenities and opening hours do not replace daily care at home or individual veterinary guidance.
Compare three breeds through the individual puppy
Use our Havanese, Havapoo and Cavapoo resources to start the conversation. Then ask about the specific puppy’s current routine, expected care, available records and the observations Cassie can share. Do not choose solely from a photograph or assume a breed label guarantees a particular adult size, coat or personality.
Discuss how you will handle coat care, supervised activity, rest and time when the household is away. Ask what supplies and instructions go home with that puppy, and review Sage’s health-testing approach rather than filling in missing details yourself. Read family reviews as other families’ experiences, not promises about your own outcome.
Confirm the homecoming details before committing
Sage’s general puppy purchase range is $3,500–$4,500. Confirm the individual puppy’s price, availability and reservation terms through pricing and reservation information and your conversation with Sage. Local licensing, household supplies and any agreed travel arrangements are separate planning questions.
Sage is based in Utah. Review How It Works, delivery and pickup information and the Nevada homecoming checklist. Confirm the actual handoff, timing and required records before making travel plans; this guide does not establish a delivery route or date.
