Before planning a puppy’s first family outing to Scissortail Park, decide who will hold the leash while the children use the sprayground. The park welcomes leashed dogs, but pets cannot enter the sprayground water. A workable plan gives the children and the puppy their own adult supervision, with an easy way to head home when either needs a break.
Sage Puppies is Cassie Milar’s boutique program in South Jordan, Utah, founded in 2025. We offer Havanese, Havapoo and Cavapoo. Oklahoma City families can discuss an individual puppy with Cassie and plan a possible homecoming from Utah.
Start with available puppies, Pricing & Reservation and How It Works. Sage’s general puppy purchase range is $3,500–$4,500; confirm the selected puppy’s exact price and current status with Cassie. Travel and continuing care are separate, and guardian arrangements have their own terms. An application starts the conversation and does not reserve a puppy.

Plan the Scissortail visit by activity
Scissortail Park’s published guidelines distinguish several spaces. Dogs must remain leashed except in the Dog Park. Pets are excluded from the sprayground water, and swimming is prohibited in the lake. The park lists hours of 6 a.m.–11 p.m.; the children’s playground operates from dawn to dusk. Check the current guidelines and signs before a visit.
For a family outing, write down the activities you actually intend to do. If children want to use the sprayground, agree who supervises them and who stays with the puppy outside the water. If only one adult is available, choose a plan that keeps everyone supervised, or arrange puppy care at home. Do not leave the puppy tied up while the family moves elsewhere.
Identify the route from your arrival point to the permitted walking area, and keep the leash on outside the designated dog park. Being allowed in the wider park does not establish that a puppy is ready for a busy dog-play area. Ask your veterinarian about this puppy’s vaccination and exposure plan, and ask Cassie about observed responses to unfamiliar dogs, sounds and handling. A shorter visit or a quiet home routine can remain an option.
Make the return journey part of the plan. Decide which adult can leave with the puppy if the outing becomes unsuitable, and how the rest of the family gets home. The sprayground and lake are not places to improvise a cooling activity for the puppy. Plan water, rest and appropriate conditions with your veterinarian’s guidance.
Make ordinary care work near home
A city park can be an occasional destination while the everyday routine works from your own home. Before choosing a puppy, list the adults available for meals, toilet opportunities, supervision, rest and gentle practice. Include the workday when everyone’s schedule is least flexible.
At an apartment or shared building, confirm pet permission and walk the actual route to the permitted toilet area. Include doors, lifts or stairs in the discussion. At a house, check gates and the supervised outdoor area. Decide who provides care when the usual adult is delayed and where the puppy can settle while children have other activities.
Use Choosing a Puppy for Your Oklahoma Household for the broader heat, storm and backup-care plan. Bring the relevant questions to your veterinarian and Cassie rather than assigning every puppy the same walk length or daily exercise schedule.
Compare the individual puppy across three breed paths
Use the breed guides to prepare questions about the particular puppy and its named parents:
- Havanese: discuss companionship, settling, handling and the coat-care routine your household can maintain.
- Havapoo: ask about the Havanese and Poodle parents, observed play and rest, and what is known about this puppy’s coat.
- Cavapoo: ask about the Cavalier and Poodle parents, individual handling responses and the daily care Cassie has observed.
Describe your actual household: children, existing pets, time away, shared entrances and who handles grooming. Ask which observations have been repeated and which expectations remain estimates. A breed name cannot guarantee adult size, temperament, coat maintenance or allergy outcomes.
Read Health Testing and Early Development before the conversation. Request the relevant parent reports and the puppy’s own veterinary records; they answer different questions. Discuss how to continue the puppy’s existing experiences without promising an instant adjustment to a new home or public park.
Check identification and your local care contacts
Oklahoma City Animal Welfare’s guidance addresses leashes, current rabies vaccination and tags. Its disaster-response guidance encourages microchips, collar tags and including pets in the family’s emergency plan. Confirm what applies to your address and ask your veterinarian about the individual puppy’s vaccination timing and records.
Before homecoming, decide who checks identification details, keeps the records accessible and contacts the veterinarian. If a microchip is present, confirm how its registration will be transferred or updated. Share the puppy’s care contacts with the agreed backup adult. Keep these private details in the household’s own records.
Confirm the Utah-to-Oklahoma City homecoming
Review Delivery & Pickup with Cassie before booking travel. Confirm the feasible arrangement, responsible adults, costs, records and receiving care for your actual destination. A city guide does not establish a delivery route or date.
Use the Oklahoma buyer guide to prepare questions about records, current entry requirements and written terms. Agree who cares for the puppy and communicates if travel timing changes.
Before applying, your household should be able to answer:
- Who provides ordinary weekday care and who is the backup?
- What is the permitted, supervised toilet route at home?
- Who stays with the puppy when a family activity excludes pets?
- Which veterinarian will advise on records, exposure and activity?
- What homecoming arrangements still need Cassie’s confirmation?
Include those details in your application so the conversation can focus on a suitable individual match. For another receiving location, use the state and city puppy guides.
