Oklahoma Puppy Buyer Guide: Records and Next Steps

Before choosing a puppy for an Oklahoma home, connect the individual puppy with its records, the seller and a workable receiving-care plan. Read the evidence and written terms before paying, then confirm the entry paperwork for the actual journey.

Sage Puppies is Cassie Milar’s South Jordan, Utah program, founded in 2025. We offer Havanese, Havapoo and Cavapoo. Oklahoma families can discuss an individual match with Cassie while preparing their home and the possible journey from Utah.

Start with current puppies, price and the purchase process

Sage’s general puppy purchase range is $3,500–$4,500. Confirm the particular puppy’s price with Cassie. Travel and ongoing care are separate; guardian arrangements have their own terms. Read Pricing & Reservation and How It Works before committing.

Check the available puppies and open an individual profile. Listings can change, so ask about the puppy’s current status, records and possible fit. If your preferred breed has no current listing, discuss future plans. An application starts the conversation; it does not reserve a puppy or establish a go-home date.

Match the puppy to its identity and care records

Ask for the birth date, sex, description and supplied identification. Match those details across the profile, veterinary records and agreement. If a microchip number is supplied, ask how it is verified and registered. Ask the issuer to explain any discrepancy before moving forward.

Request the examination date, findings, disclosed concerns, vaccination and treatment history, and follow-up advice. Share readable copies with the receiving veterinarian. Ask what care remains due and who can clarify a missing entry. A vaccine sticker, clinic name or recent photograph alone cannot establish the complete history.

Read Early Development and ask which experiences this puppy has had, what Cassie has observed repeatedly, and what your household will continue. Describe your children, other pets and daily care coverage so those questions concern your actual home.

Read named-parent screening separately from the puppy’s exam

A named parent’s screening, a puppy examination and a general description of a breeding program answer different questions. Ask which reports exist, who issued them, which animal each describes and what the findings mean. Review Health Testing before discussing the actual records with Cassie.

Connect each report to the named dog and its test date. Ask the issuing professional about unclear findings or limitations. Screening cannot establish every future health outcome. The individual puppy’s care history and receiving examination still matter.

Check Oklahoma entry requirements for the actual journey

As checked October 15, 2026, the department’s linked December 19, 2025 import memorandum calls for a certificate of veterinary inspection, or CVI, for dogs. It requires rabies vaccination for dogs three months—twelve weeks—or older, with the vaccine and date recorded. Recognition of a three-year vaccine depends on documented primary vaccination and subsequent boosters.

Its FAQ describes certificates reaching the department within thirty days of entry. Have the issuing veterinarian confirm the accepted document method and timing with ODAFF; that wording alone does not establish a universal certificate-validity period or young-puppy eligibility.

The department’s June 15, 2026 screwworm movement notice expressly includes pets. Infested-zone origins need the origin-state conditions, an Oklahoma permit and a CVI with the specified individual-inspection declaration. Adjacent-surveillance-zone origins need a CVI issued within five days of movement and the declaration. Ask the veterinarian and department to check current zones, restrictions and the puppy’s actual origin, history, age and travel date before booking. Livestock permit exceptions do not establish a dog’s eligibility.

Put terms and receiving responsibilities in writing

Before paying, review the seller’s identity, the specific puppy, actual price, deposit or reservation terms, expected timing and each party’s responsibilities. Ask what happens if timing changes or a concern arises before homecoming. Read any guarantee, return or refund provisions in the actual agreement and clarify material questions before committing.

Use Delivery & Pickup to prepare questions for Cassie about feasible arrangements, costs and the responsible adults. Choose a receiving veterinary practice and arrange the first appointment according to the agreement and veterinary advice. Keep records and contact details accessible. Ask who to contact if the puppy becomes unwell or the journey is delayed.

Choose the household fit and responsible next step

Compare the Havanese, Havapoo and Cavapoo guides. Prepare questions about companionship, handling, activity, rest and coat care. Discuss the individual puppy and named parents; a breed label cannot guarantee adult size, temperament or an allergy outcome.

Use the Oklahoma household guide to plan daily coverage, heat relief and a practiced storm backup. Describe those arrangements and your timing flexibility in the application. Return to puppy guides by state when comparing another receiving household.
