For an Ohio household, choosing a small companion puppy means planning who provides daily care, how the puppy reaches its toilet area and what happens when weather or work changes the day. Compare the individual puppy with that real routine. Use the routine your family can maintain to prepare questions about the individual puppy’s behavior and needs.
Sage Puppies is Cassie Milar’s South Jordan, Utah program, founded in 2025. We offer Havanese, Havapoo and Cavapoo. Ohio families can describe their home and discuss an individual match with Cassie while preparing for a supported journey from Utah.
Begin with current availability and a realistic budget
Sage’s general puppy purchase range is $3,500–$4,500. Confirm the selected puppy’s price; travel, continuing care and guardian arrangements are separate. Read Pricing & Reservation and How It Works to understand the next steps.
The live listings below can change. Read the individual profile and ask about status, records and repeated observations. If a breed has no current listings, discuss future plans with Cassie. Applying does not reserve a puppy or guarantee a go-home date.

Compare three breeds through the individual puppy
- Havanese: ask about companionship, settling, handling and the coat-care routine your family can maintain.
- Havapoo: discuss the named Havanese and Poodle parents and this puppy’s play, handling and coat. Puppies within a litter can differ.
- Cavapoo: ask about the named Cavalier and Poodle parents, individual activity, rest and response to everyday handling.
Explain children, existing pets, stairs, noise and the time an adult is available. Ask what Cassie has observed repeatedly and which expectations remain estimates. Read Early Development to prepare questions about experiences you will continue. No breed label guarantees adult size, temperament, a low-maintenance coat or freedom from allergy symptoms.
Match the workday and property to a care routine
Write down who handles waking, meals, toilet opportunities, supervision and rest. Arrange an agreed backup adult before the primary caregiver’s workday changes. A yard, apartment or flexible job title does not establish that a young puppy has appropriate care throughout the day.
At a shared building, confirm pet permission and the route between the home and supervised toilet area. Check how entrances, elevators and stairs affect the adult’s routine. At a house, check gates, exits and the actual supervised space. Agree who maintains the access route and where the puppy rests indoors. Ask the veterinarian about appropriate exposure and activity while care and vaccinations continue.
Prepare winter access and practical paw cleanup
Cornell’s winter guidance explains that cold tolerance varies and that puppies and small dogs are more vulnerable. Plan supervised outings with reachable access and warm, dry indoor care. Observe the puppy’s response and ask the veterinarian about individual needs rather than choosing a fixed outdoor temperature or time limit from a breed name.
Keep cleanup supplies near the return entrance so an adult can remove snow, salt and de-icers from paws. Store chemicals and wet outdoor gear out of reach. A sweater or boots do not establish a safe exposure period. Suspected antifreeze ingestion, frostbite or hypothermia needs immediate veterinary care. Keep the clinic’s current contact route and an alternative accessible.
Include the puppy in the household weather plan
Build an emergency plan around your actual Ohio address and receiving day. Choose how you will receive local warnings, who will care for the puppy and where you can go if ordinary home or travel arrangements are interrupted.
Use the state’s preparedness resources to choose communications and prepare the home and vehicle. Apply that household planning to the puppy: an agreed caregiver, reachable carrier, food, water, necessary records and a suitable alternative place to stay. Confirm that the receiving place can accommodate the puppy; do not assume all lodging or emergency shelter options permit pets.
Discuss how another adult will find the supplies and follow the supplied care instructions if power, heating, communications or travel is interrupted. Check current local alerts and follow official directions. Keep a quiet indoor routine practical when outdoor plans change rather than using a busy public outing as the default substitute.
Plan the actual homecoming and receiving responsibility
Read the Ohio health-record and entry-document guide before confirming a journey. Match the individual puppy to its records, ask about parent screening through Health Testing and arrange receiving veterinary care. County registration and interstate entry paperwork have different purposes.
Discuss Delivery & Pickup with Cassie before booking a flight, route or meeting point. Confirm the supported arrangements, responsible adults, appropriate carrier or restraint, costs and the plan if timing changes. Follow equipment and carrier requirements and ask for puppy-specific feeding advice rather than inventing a fasting routine.
Check OHGO’s current traffic and weather-related travel information before the receiving drive, and follow current closures and local instructions. Agree who communicates a delay, who continues caring for the puppy and who checks whether changed timing affects its documents. Explain your property, daily coverage and flexibility in the application. Write down unanswered questions for the person responsible for each part of the plan.
