Choosing a Havanese, Havapoo or Cavapoo in Utah

View Available Puppies

Sage Puppies is Cassie Milar's boutique puppy program in South Jordan, Utah. We raise Havanese, Havapoo and Cavapoo puppies, and the best place to begin is the fit between an individual puppy and your daily life. Think about companionship, grooming, your household schedule and a practical care budget before choosing from photos.

This guide helps Utah families compare the three breeds, prepare for their actual home and understand the path from application to a confirmed puppy match.

Which of Sage's three breeds should you explore?

Breed background provides useful context. It cannot promise an exact adult size, coat, personality or training outcome. Ask about the actual parents, the puppy's current behavior and the basis for any expected adult-size range.

Havanese: begin with a companion-breed profile

The Havanese is a small companion breed. Explore this option if you want to understand a Havanese-specific background and are ready to plan for close household involvement, training and recurring coat care.

Coat length and the trim you prefer will affect the grooming routine. A shorter haircut still needs maintenance. Read the Havanese breed guide, then ask which parent and puppy information applies to the individual you are considering.

Havapoo: ask about both the Havanese and Poodle parents

A Havapoo has Havanese and Poodle ancestry. The label alone does not establish the puppy's eventual size, coat texture, energy or confidence. Both parents' actual information matters more than a broad “mini” or “toy” description.

If this mix interests you, use the Havapoo breed guide to frame your questions. Discuss grooming expectations, household companionship and daily training, then review the individual puppy rather than assuming every Havapoo will be alike.

Cavapoo: learn about the Cavalier and Poodle background

A Cavapoo has Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and Poodle ancestry. Ask what is known about both parents and how the breeder's observations relate to the particular puppy.

Use the Cavapoo breed guide to explore this mix. Be ready for ongoing coat care, household participation and patient training. A Cavapoo label or generation cannot guarantee allergy compatibility, adult size or temperament.

No breed or mix should be promised as allergy-safe. If allergies affect your decision, discuss your household's situation with an appropriate medical professional before committing.

Plan for your Utah household

Utah's mountains, northern valleys and southern desert areas have different climate patterns. NOAA's Utah State Climate Summary provides regional context. Your puppy plan should follow your actual home, local conditions and veterinary guidance.

Salt Lake Valley apartments, condos and townhomes

Map the potty route before go-home day. Consider doors, stairs, elevators and the distance to a suitable outdoor spot. Decide who can provide care during work or school hours and where your puppy can rest away from a busy entry.

Verify your own lease, condominium or HOA requirements. A smaller dog still needs household attention, enrichment and training; floor area alone does not determine fit.

Northern Utah and mountain communities

Plan an entry cleanup station and an indoor routine for days when outdoor conditions change. Ask your veterinarian how weather and your puppy's age should affect outings, and keep transportation plans flexible when conditions make travel difficult.

A mountain household's interests do not establish what a young puppy can safely do. Build the care plan around the individual puppy, with room for rest and gradual learning.

Southern Utah homes

Think through shaded potty access, indoor space and who will supervise outings under the day's conditions. A secure yard can help with logistics, but it does not replace supervision, training or family involvement.

The useful comparison is between your real routine and a puppy's needs. Sage's program remains in South Jordan; pickup details must be confirmed directly.

Review records for the actual parents and puppy

Ask which parent health records apply to the puppy you are considering, how each parent is identified and what the results mean. Parent testing and the puppy's own veterinary records answer different questions. Testing informs decisions; it does not guarantee lifelong health.

Review Sage's health-testing information and early-development approach. Ask what occurred for the actual puppy, which records accompany the placement and what the written terms require after go-home.

Keep copies of the relevant records and arrange your own veterinary care. Clear questions and consistent documentation help you evaluate a program without relying on a badge or a general claim.

What should Utah buyers budget?

Sage Puppies' current general puppy purchase range is $3,500–$4,500. The individual puppy's listing and confirmed written terms determine the exact price. Guardian-home arrangements are separate.

Budget separately for veterinary care, food, grooming, equipment and ongoing household support. Confirm delivery or travel costs for the particular arrangement; do not assume they are included in the puppy purchase price.

The maintained Pricing & Reservation page explains the current process. Review the terms before sending a payment.

From application to a confirmed handoff

1. Review current opportunities. Open Available Puppies and read the full profiles. Availability and go-home timing can change.

2. Apply with your actual household plan. Include your schedule, preferred breed, timing and whether you are considering Utah pickup or another arrangement.

3. Discuss the match. Application review and matching help establish whether an individual opportunity fits. An application alone does not reserve a puppy.

4. Review the written reservation terms. Confirm the exact puppy, price, payment details, relevant policies and agreed timing before proceeding.

5. Confirm go-home arrangements. Review Delivery & Pickup and arrange the details directly. Utah pickup is by appointment; do not assume a walk-in visit or an unconfirmed meeting site.

The How It Works guide is the central process reference.

Start with the breed information, then return to the actual puppy and your care plan. You do not need to settle every detail from a breed description before asking a thoughtful question.
