The Guardian Home Partnership

What it means to be Harmony's guardian family

Harmony would live with her guardian family as their loved companion while remaining part of the Sage Puppies breeding program for a limited period under a written guardian agreement.

This arrangement allows her to grow up in a stable family home instead of living in a kennel environment. It also requires dependable communication, careful daily care and cooperation with planned health evaluations and breeding-related appointments.

Important: This page is a practical overview, not the complete guardian agreement. Timing, ownership, transportation, veterinary responsibilities, breeding-related costs and every other obligation are reviewed with the selected family before placement.

Harmony lives with you

Your home is Harmony's everyday home. You provide the affection, structure, training, grooming, exercise and companionship she needs as a family dog.

Sage Puppies retains breeding rights

During the agreed breeding period, Sage Puppies coordinates appropriate evaluations and approved breeding-related care in accordance with the signed agreement.

We stay in communication

Guardian families must provide timely updates, follow agreed care requirements, prevent unapproved breeding and make Harmony available for scheduled program needs.

Harmony retires with her family

After her breeding career and the requirements of the agreement are complete, Harmony remains with the guardian family as their permanent companion and final ownership is handled as stated in the agreement.

Could Your Home Be the Right Fit?

Harmony needs both a loving family and a dependable partner

The best guardian family is excited about Harmony first and also comfortable with the additional responsibilities that come with the program.

Preference is generally given to families within practical driving distance of South Jordan, Salt Lake County or the Salt Lake City area because in-person coordination may be needed.

  • A stable, safe and loving long-term home for Harmony.
  • Consistent training, socialization, grooming and routine care.
  • Reliable transportation and availability for scheduled appointments.
  • Prompt, honest communication with Sage Puppies.
  • Willingness to follow the guardian agreement and prevent accidental or unapproved breeding.
  • Comfort caring for an intact female and following heat-cycle instructions provided by Sage Puppies.

Current pets may be acceptable. Household fit, distance, schedule and the specific terms of Harmony's placement are reviewed during the application process.

Guardian Home FAQ

Questions families often ask

Harmony's final agreement will control if any summary on this page differs from the written placement terms.

Is Harmony being placed as a regular pet puppy?

No. Harmony is available through the Sage Puppies guardian home program. She lives with her guardian family as a beloved companion, but the placement includes additional contractual responsibilities connected to the breeding program.

What does the listed $250 amount cover?

Harmony's puppy record currently lists a $250 guardian-home amount. The exact payment terms, care costs and breeding-related financial responsibilities are explained before placement and documented in the guardian agreement.

Does Harmony live with Sage Puppies during the program?

Harmony's everyday home is with her guardian family. She may need to return to Sage Puppies temporarily for scheduled evaluations, breeding-related appointments or other program needs described in the agreement.

Must a guardian family live near South Jordan?

Practical driving distance is important because the program can require in-person coordination. Preference is generally given to suitable families near South Jordan, Salt Lake County and the greater Salt Lake City area. Final distance requirements are reviewed during the application.

Who handles veterinary and breeding-related expenses?

Routine care and breeding-related responsibilities are not automatically the same. The written agreement explains which party schedules and pays for each type of care, along with transportation and communication requirements.

What happens when Harmony retires from breeding?

Harmony remains with her guardian family. After the breeding commitment and all agreement requirements are complete, final ownership and retirement steps are handled according to the signed guardian agreement.
