Work out where a puppy can sleep undisturbed and how you will reach an appropriate potty area. A shared hallway or elevator adds steps to every trip outside; rehearse the route with supplies in hand. Write down the longest day everyone will be away, including the commute. Name the person who can provide care if a meeting runs late or the regular caregiver is unavailable. A nearby beach does not solve a gap in daytime supervision.
